Julia Burke hosted her Summer Soiree at the beautiful Ogilvie Farm in North Salem on August 16th. Featured in the evening were singers from Studio Lirico NYC, where Julia serves on the Board of Directors.

Michael Recchiuti, General and Artistic Director, and international soprano Elizabeth Blancke-Biggs, Director of Vocal Studies, conceived a program of famous arias by Giuseppe Verdi.

Two outstanding students from the program were also introduced: Weiyu Zhang, a mezzo-soprano from China who favored the guests with a stunning reading of “O don fatal” from Don Carlo, and New York-born and raised soprano Asha Lindsey, who performed “Ritorna vincitor” from Aida. Ms. Blancke-Biggs then brought the program to a rousing finale with “Pace, pace” from La Forza del Destino. 

The guests were impressed by the marvelous performances of the three singers as well as by the warm ambiance of the Ogilvie Farm.

This coming season Studio Lirico NYC is planning a series of masterclasses, “Singers on Singing” by major international artists, recitals, and more here in NYC.
